Instructions
Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
Stir in crushed tomatoes.
Add oregano, basil, salt, sugar, and pepper.
Simmer for 15–20 minutes until slightly thickened.
Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
Notes
For the best flavor, use high-quality canned tomatoes such as San Marzano.
The sauce thickens slightly as it cools.
