Ingredients

Instructions
Heat a saucepan over medium heat.
Add shallots and cook briefly.
Pour in red wine and bring to a simmer.
Add beef stock and stir.
Simmer until reduced by half.
Stir in butter and season with salt and pepper.
Notes
Use a dry red wine for the best flavor.
The sauce thickens naturally as it reduces.
